An Evening for a Cause: St. Joseph’s Gala Brings Community Together

Fundraising event blends celebration, charity, and community spirit to support students and school needs

La Porte, Texas, 9 April 2026 – St. Joseph’s Regional Catholic School is set to host its annual gala this Saturday, inviting the community to come together for an evening of dining, entertainment, and meaningful giving. The event will take place at The Gates on Main Street in La Porte, beginning at 7 p.m.

The gala is more than just a social gathering. It plays a key role in supporting the school’s mission by raising funds for important needs such as student scholarships and campus improvements. This year, the focus is on raising funds for a new air conditioning system, which is expected to cost nearly $100,000.

According to school officials, the current system has required frequent repairs, making a long-term solution necessary. Alongside this, funds will also support scholarships and general school operations, helping families access quality education at more affordable tuition rates.

The evening will begin with cocktails, guest registration, and a silent auction featuring a variety of donated items and experiences. Guests can also participate in fun activities like a mystery box and wine pull, adding an element of surprise to the night.

After the opening session, attendees will be seated for dinner, where school leadership will share insights about the institution’s vision and ongoing needs. One of the highlights of the evening will be the introduction of a new Legacy Award, created to honor a distinguished alumna and strengthen connections with former students.

The program will continue with opportunities for guests to contribute directly through a “paddles up” fundraising segment. This will be followed by a live auction featuring exclusive experiences, including a bayfront getaway, themed events, and tickets to a professional football game.

A special raffle featuring a “His-and-Hers” prize, including jewelry and a watch, will also be part of the evening, giving attendees another way to support the cause.

Beyond fundraising, the gala is designed to bring together parents, alumni, parish members, and supporters for a night of connection and celebration. The event will conclude with music and dancing, creating a lively and memorable atmosphere.

Tickets are available for purchase online, and even those who cannot attend can participate in the silent auction or contribute through donations.

Events like this highlight the importance of community-driven support in education, showing how collective efforts can create lasting impact for students and future generations.
